Teaching Elementary English Abroad

About TEEA

TEEA is a student organization established in the fall of 2023 at the University of Washington. Our aim is to build a bridge between UW students and elementary school children in Taiwan, fostering mutual exchange and learning. We are committed to providing long-term and stable English teaching and companionship.

How We Think

Opportunity Outside of School

Our programs provide elementary school students with additional chances to practice using the English language.

Learn English the FUN way

Our programs will be based on games and interactions to help increase students' opportunities to use English in real life.

Motivation to learn English

We aim to help students gain motivation to learn English with the hope of building relationships with foreign teachers.

What We Do

Online Tutoring

TEEA members will conduct 40-minute online sessions weekly with elementary students in Taiwan during the school year. We will craft module topics aligned with their textbooks offering students additional opportunities for English practice and cultivating their enthusiasm for learning the language.

Summer Camp

The week-long summer camp in Taiwan will focus on sparking students' interest in English. Some TEEA members will join Taiwanese school volunteers to organize activities to broaden horizons through cultural exchange and motivate students to engage with English speakers enthusiastically.
